Less than 10 days before the 2023 Dakar Rally, we received an exciting brand partnership invitation from Kove. Their 450 Rally bike, developed over two years, was set to compete in the grueling Dakar race. This was a significant moment, as Kove’s entry marked the first time a fully domestic motorcycle and team from China participated in the event.
Although the partnership came together quickly, Westwind proudly supported Kove’s Dakar team, providing rally-specific gear for their journey. Our name appeared for the first time on the Dakar stage, alongside Kove’s efforts. Over the course of the race, the team overcame numerous challenges and ultimately achieved their best-ever result at Dakar, inspiring greater enthusiasm for motorsports.
